Wilmington Best Child Care Centre and Wilmington Best Satellite are located in North York, Ontario, inside Wilmington Public School and C.H Best Middle School.
We have proudly been providing high quality non-for-profit childcare since 1985 and value the health, safety, learning, and well-being of all children.
The Wilmington Best Child Care Centre team includes our Board of Directors, Childcare Director, and Wilmington Educators.
Wilmington Best Child Care provides preschool, Junior/Senior and School Age Before and Afterschool Childcare, along with childcare on PD Days, Winter, March, and Summer Break Camps.
Wilmington Best Child Care provides a positive learning environment for children that enhances their individual development.
Through planned, child-led, and educator-facilitated activities, the children participate in a wide variety of stimulating activities so each child can reach their full potential, creating a fun atmosphere where children can learn, feel safe, secure, and valued.
Ontario’s Pedagogy for the Early Years (“How Does Learning Happen” and “Early Learning for Every Child Today”) provide a framework for developing effective early childhood education programs based on the foundational needs of children.
Wilmington Best Child Care offers spaces for:
24 Preschoolers (2.5 – 4 years of age)
78 Before & Afterschool Kindergarteners
69 Before & After School Age
Our hours of operation are from 7:00 am – 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.
We are happy to provide before and afterschool care for children who attend local schools. We will pick up children who take school bus transportation from your child’s local school to drop off at Wilmington Best Child Care Centre.

Wilmington Best Child Care is participating in the Canada Wide Early Learning Child Care Program (CWELCC)
Toronto Children’s Services may provide families with childcare fee subsidy with the
cost of licensed childcare programs. A family that needs help with the cost of licensed childcare for their children (up to 12 years old). For more information, please apply online at here, or call 416-338-8888. If you receive Ontario Works, contact your Ontario Works caseworker to apply.
Summer camps available from the months of July and August, please call us early to reserve a spot.
Wilmington Best Child Care Centre is committed to an inclusive childcare centre ensuring learning opportunities for all children.
We work in partnership with the City of Toronto’s Every Child Belongs Model of Service and is supported by a Resource Consultation Staff (Josie Iannaccio, Humber Resource Consultation Services) who can help our program provide consultation supports and services to children with extra support needs and their families.
Every Child Belongs Services works in partnership with educators and families to develop and carry out strategies that support children in childcare.

Wilmington Best Child Care Centre is proud to introduce our director, Teresa Tomassi, who has been working with Wilmington since the centre opened its doors in 1985.
We are proud to share our team includes experienced Early Childhood Educators and Early Childhood Assistants who have been working with us for over 15 years.
Our team speaks many languages such as: English, French, Russian, Georgian, Mandarin, Tagalog, Yiddish, Italian, Spanish, Persian, Armenian, Dari, Hebrew, Romanian, Tagalong, Pilipino, Filipino.
Our long-lasting team members provide consistency, reliability, familiar faces, and a nurturing environment for every child.
Our team is passionate, caring, patient, empathetic, with a deep understanding of child development.
We strive to build relationships with children and families, create safe, rich play-based learning and inclusive environments for all!
Our childcare centre maintains a positive and collaborative working relationship with the school and community supports/services.
We work together to support holistic development and well-being for every child, supporting children from the early years through school life.
We value ongoing professional growth and strengthen educator expertise by ensuring all educators attend ongoing professional growth through training, workshops and development opportunities.
Our educators are recognized by the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.
Standard First Aid Certificate with infant/child CPR-C, a clear Vulnerable Sector Criminal Reference Check, Workplace Health and Safety Act, WHMIS, and Food Handler Certification is completed with our team annually.
